Alpha v0.7.0 is out!

First of all, I would like to apologize for the numerous times I delayed this release. I hope that in the future I release smaller updates more frequently, to avoid having huge periods of no improvements for users between releases. With that said, on to the exciting part. ⬇️

New stuff in this release:

  • Added Heimdall support. It is a work-in-progress, but you should be able to flash firmware using it. Something to be aware of: When I was testing Heimdall support on my S5, there were two times when the phone wouldn't boot normally or to Download Mode after a flash, only Recovery Mode. However, in the course of doing dozens of flashes for testing, I do sometimes pull the battery out when it's still booting up, so that may have had something to do with it. Anyways, after realizing that I had soft-bricked my S5 somehow, I proceeded to try and reproduce the issue, but after a half dozen flashes I was unable to reproduce it again. TL;DR: There is a chance that your phone won't boot normally after flashing with Heimdall from GF. I will continue to try and find what exactly caused the soft-bricks, and will inform you if I find what caused it.
  • Added initial multi-language support. There is now a "Language" and "Fallback language" setting. Currently only English and Dutch languages are available, so if you'd be interested in contributing translations, please let me know and I'll answer any questions you may have! Huge thanks to @Gusted, who took it upon themselves to add Dutch translations for Galaxy Flasher.
  • Improved how flash-tools are loaded and swapped. You are now able to switch between flash-tools without re-starting the app, and flash-tools getting loaded show a loading icon. It is now possible to flash back-to-back with different flash-tools. For example, you can load Thor, flash phones, load Odin4, flash more phones, and then load Heimdall and flash with Heimdall.
  • Added a "Show window title" setting.
  • Added an optional "Terminal Pane", which shows you the output of the flash-tools being used in real-time. It is "optional" because if you don't want to install VTE, GF will just disable the terminal pane. The Terminal Pane can be toggled by clicking the terminal icon in the bottom-right, and there is a "Show terminal pane on startup" setting that well, does what it sounds like it does.
  • Updated to the GNOME 48 runtime.
  • Added a "build.py" script for assisting in building/installing Galaxy Flasher. For now it only helps for Flatpak installs, but I hope to expand it in the future.
  • and more...

Fixed the following issues:

  • The docs need to be updated to tell users that they need to edit the udev rules before using GF, see here.
  • You have to restart Galaxy Flasher after changing a flash-tool executable for it to apply, see here.
  • build-python.sh is broken, don't use it.

The docs are still in the process of being updated, but as usual, if you have any questions just ask! :)

What's changed from v0.6.0.

Thanks for your patience in waiting for this release!
