What's New

This is a relatively minor release compared to 0.6 and 0.5, however some notable changes were made to the interface motivating the 0.7 release over 0.6.3, and going forward releases are unlikely to introduce as many new features at once as 0.5, or be a complete rewrite of the entire project, instead being similar in scope to this one.

Changes in this release include:

  • Albums can now be grouped by genre in addition to artist. A drop-down menu in the header bar allows switching the artist list to a genre list and back.
  • The search dialog now has additional filtering options for more specific searches
  • The GtkScale used for the seek bar has been replaced with a custom widget, providing a highlight indicating where to seek to, and generally improving interactions with the seekbar.
  • A background status message is now set when running in the background, indicating the current playback state.

Bugfixes

  • Tracks played from the search provider in GNOME no longer start at the saved playback position from the last time RecordBox was closed.
  • Playing tracks from an album with discs no longer has the potential to cause a crash
  • Selecting a track from the search dialog that is within a disc now correctly expands the disc row containing the track
  • File modification events are now debounced so RecordBox no longer re-scans the library for every single file modification event.
  • RecordBox now only hides on close when a track is playing, instead of all the time.
  • The last track that was in the queue can no longer be restarted by toggling playback through MPRIS after the queue was cleared.
  • Minor adjustments were made to the library parsing code to handle some specific edge cases when cover images and albumartist tags are changed.
