⚠️ NOTE FOR MACOS USERS
This release adds a couple new environment variables to disable Mozilla telemetry. While not strictly required, it is highly recommended to update Dove's environment variables. The recommended way to do this is via the environment update script, which can be ran with the following command in your terminal:

2026.04.27.1. - Removed built-in DNS over HTTPS providers that do not have their addresses signed by DNSSEC, due to the associated privacy and security concerns.
- Due to Quad9 being one of the providers impacted, the default DNS over HTTPS provider for new users has been switched to Mullvad (Base).
- For Quad9 users on existing Dove installations, Quad9 will remain the selected DNS over HTTPS provider, though we strongly recommend switching to one of the other built-in providers if possible.
- To align with this change, the default DNS resolver for DKIM Verifier has also been changed from Quad9 to Mullvad (Base) for new users. This is configured separately from DKIM Verifier's settings panel.
- Due to Quad9 being one of the providers impacted, the default DNS over HTTPS provider for new users has been switched to Mullvad (Base).
- Disabled the
cut,copy, andpasteclipboard events by default. - Enforced DKIM verification for domains simply "testing" it by default (for new users).
- Set DKIM verifier to use our configured DNS resolver, instead of the system's, by default for new users.
- Added environment variables to disable GFX crash telemetry.
- uBird is now installed and updated directly from
addons.thunderbird.net. - LINUX: All preferences are now set from
dove.cfg(instead ofdove.js), asdove.cfgcan now be read from the system directory (/etc/thunderbird).- This is in line with Dove's behavior on other platforms, and will allow for major improvements/enhancements in the near future (such as allowing us to use the same file for all platforms...)
- Other minor tweaks and adjustments.
